If you are interested in sexual and gender diversity—as a scholar, professional, artist, or activist—consider pursuing the Queer Studies Certificate.
This certificate explores LGBTQIA2S+ people’s histories, experiences, advocacy, embodied knowledge, and popular culture. The program examines how struggles for LGBTQIA2S+ rights intersect with social justice issues pertaining to race, class, citizenship, age, and ability.
The Queer Studies Certificate compliments all academic paths and professions and demonstrates one’s ability to engage in critical thinking, community advocacy, and intercultural communication. You need not be LGBTQIA2S+ identified to pursue the certificate but interested in gender and sexuality in a global context.
Many queer studies alumni attain careers in the public sector, such as:
